The unit is very-very clean and has always been in a non-smoking environment and this baby sounds absolutely superb. This classic and very desirable TEAC unit is in great operating condition. It is cosmetically outstanding with just a few small scratches on the unit, but you must look close to see them. The front face is very clean and sharp - The front glass is crystal clear, all lights light, and all buttons and knobs have been cleaned. The unit has been fully detailed, serviced, tested, and cleaned and everything works as it should. DESCRIPTION: Here is the extraordinary TEAC T-R600 quartz synthesized AM/FM tuner with an advanced circuitry. The major feature of the T-R600 FM/AM tuner is the system which detects ant difference in frequency between IF signal and the reference signal generated by the crystal oscillator. The FM Decoder uses the design principle of the 'phase lock loop' applied in the circuit. It has no inductances or capacitances which cause phase shifts and distortions. Any phase dislocation that might occur is automatically detected and compensated by a loop circuit. This results in an unprecedented high degree of stability irrespective of temperature or humidity changes. Also, the TEAC T-R600 incorporates a 5-gang variable capacitor and four dual gate MOS FETS. A capacitance controlled double tuned circuit is inserted between the RF amplifier stages. Those features produce impressive characteristics such as a sensitivity of 3.0uV (FM) and a signal to noise ratio of 65dB (FM), 40dB (MW) The T-R600 by TEAC : Something extra everywhere!
